Last Fall, I visited the prestigious Ivy League campus of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. The shoot was for an office solutions company I shoot for, documenting a new space on the Dartmouth campus for a promotional marketing piece. The DEN, or as they call it: DEN Innovation Center and New Venture Incubator, is the Tuck School of Business’ newest facility for collaboration between business students and the community. While I was there I met some students who were actively in meetings with venture capitalists (whom also happened to be alumni of Dartmouth), bouncing ideas off each other for new startups, while hoping for some initial capital investment to get them started.
Side note: If you’re ever in Hanover, stop in to the Canoe Club for dinner and drink. I recommend sitting at the bar – they make a great “Last Word” (an old gin cocktail, mixed with lime juice, Chartreuse, and Luxardo cheery liqueur). You’ll more than likely to saddle up next to a truly interesting professor affectionately named Doc (who comes in for a diet coke and dinner), or overhear a discussion among a few students on their thesis about black holes. It’s a good time, and the food is pretty good, too.
